FACILITIES SUPERVISOR JOB OPENING
First United Methodist Church of Madisonville, Kentucky, a dynamic, missional 1000-member congregation, seeks an experienced and faithful individual for the position of Facilities Supervisor. This is a full-time, salaried ministry position that is designed to implement the mission of the church by promoting the upkeep, safety, functionality, and maintenance of the facilities at Madisonville First United Methodist Church.
JOB POSITION:
Facilities Supervisor (Full Time); Flexible Start Date
JOB SUMMARY:
The Facilities Supervisor is responsible is for the safety, function, cleanliness, and maintenance of the church buildings and properties. The Facilities Supervisor supervises maintenance and custodial staff and works with outside vendors and contractors to accomplish this goal. The Facilities Supervisor works with the church staff, board of trustees, and congregation to have the church buildings and properties in good working in order to accomplish the church’s mission.
PAY RANGE:
Full Time Hourly, Non-exempt, $16.50 - $19.50/hour, depending on skill set and experience.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
- Performing, assigning, or contracting all maintenance work at the church buildings, vehicles, and grounds.
- Obtaining pricing and approval for any work to be done by outside contractors or vendors, and supervising said work to make sure it is accomplished.
- Supervising and scheduling maintenance and custodial staff.
- Ensuring the church and properties are clean and well maintained.
- Proposing and working within an annual facilities budget.
- Attend staff meetings, board of trustees meetings, and other meetings as determined by supervisor.
- Performing maintenance work on the building that lies within the supervisor’s skill set.
- Ensuring that rooms and facilities are appropriately set up for all events and activities
- Calling attention to major maintenance needs to be considered by the board of trustees
- Ordering cleaning and maintenance supplies
- Assuring compliance with all local, state, and federal requirements for the facilities.
- Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Experience in a related field
- Technical skills helpful in the maintenance of a large facility such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical are desirable, but not required.
- Understanding of terminology related to HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical work.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Skills in time management, money management, and relationships with people.
- Appropriate respect and willingness to work in a Christian setting.
- Willingness to work in a multi-cultural and multi-lingual setting.
- Ability to pass a background check, drug test, and to complete Safe Sanctuaries Training

PRESCHOOL TEACHER
First United Methodist Church Preschool of Madisonville, Kentucky, a high-quality early childhood education center that serves up to 83 students, seeks experienced individuals for Preschool Teacher positions. These are full-time, hourly positions that work in our full-day preschool program serving families with children in classes from infant to PreK.
The qualified candidate should have a high school diploma or equivalent. Associate or Bachelor’s degree in education or equivalent experience in the field of early childhood education or prior employment in a childcare center is preferred. The candidate should also have the ability to lead, teach, and care for young children in a high-quality preschool program. Candidates should be self-motivated, creative, a team-player, and a team builder with organizational skills.

JOB POSITION – Preschool Teacher (Full Time; Hourly)
JOB SUMMARY
A preschool teacher nurtures and teaches children in our preschool. Their duties include overseeing and supporting the children's cognitive, physical, and spiritual development, upholding the preschool's standards and safety protocols, and showing dedication to continuous professional growth. Educators should have the ability to observe, evaluate, analyze, and record children's progress and conduct, communicate this information effectively to families, and utilize it to design suitable developmental activities and experiences.

ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE
Preschool Teachers work directly with students in the preschool classroom. This position reports to the Head of School.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Managing activities like lessons, playtime, breaks, and meals while maintaining a clean and organized classroom.

Develop, prepare, and implement lessons that target various aspects of child development, including language, motor skills, and social abilities. Offer children tools and resources for exploration.

Adjust teaching techniques and materials to match the interests and learning preferences of each child. Engage with children both in group settings and individually based on their needs and the subject matter.

Support children in achieving developmental milestones. Monitor each child's progress to enhance their social skills and boost self-confidence. Foster interactions among children and assist in conflict resolution.

Regularly communicate with parents to learn about the children's backgrounds and provide reports and feedback on their performance and behavior.

Attend to children's basic needs by organizing nap and snack times, overseeing their safety, and maintaining order in the classroom.

Commit to continuing professional development in early childhood education and care

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred from an accredited college or university but not required.

Experience working in a early childhood education setting preferred but not required.

Prior employment in a childcare setting is a plus but not required.

Willingness to work in a multi-cultural and multi-lingual setting. (ability to speak another language other than English is a plus but not required)
