REVS. JOHN & LOLETUTH Co-Lead Pastor's
Revs. John & Loletuth Kalz are the newly appointed co-pastors of First United Methodist Church. Ordained elders in the Kentucky Conference of The United Methodist Church, they bring a passion for people, the church, and God’s Mission in the world. John & Loletuth have three children, four-year old Emily, and one-year old twins, Lucas and Eliza.
Pastor Loletuth grew up across Western Kentucky as a pastor’s child. She is a graduate of Lindsey Wilson College (BA) , Duke Divinity School (MDiv.), and is finishing her doctorate through Wesley Seminary. Prior to coming to Madisonville, she served for the past five years as associate pastor at Christ Church United Methodist in Louisville, the largest Methodist congregation in the commonwealth. She has also served as the pastor at Trinity UMC in Covington, Ky., and as a mission intern with the UMC in Macedonia, Europe.
Pastor John grew up on a farm outside Somerset, Kentucky. He is a graduate of Lindsey Wilson College (BA), Duke Divinity School (MDiv.), and Louisville Seminary (DMin.). Prior to coming to Madisonville, he served for the past five years as Senior Pastor at Buechel United Methodist in Louisville, a multi-cultural congregation. He has also served as the pastor at Wesley UMC in Ludlow, Ky., Assistant Chaplain at Lindsey Wilson, and as the Conference Coordinator for United Methodist Volunteers in Mission.
REV. SHELLEY CAULDER Executive Pastor
As Executive Pastor, Shelley is responsible for the operational aspects of FUMC’s ministry and works closely with our Senior Pastor to fulfill the vision of the church.
Shelley grew up internationally, landing in Wilmore KY, where he and Amy met and married as students at Asbury Theological Seminary. A major source of deep joy for Shelley & Amy are their 6 children: Erin, Allie & her husband, Steve, Ben, Zoe, Anne and Mattie.
He is responsible for coordinating, developing, evaluating, and deploying First United Methodist Church’s ministry.
Prior to joining our staff, Shelley was resident Missionary Professor in Pastoral Ministries in Kenya Highland Evangelical University after working in Project Development in East Africa. He has served other congregations as an Associate Pastor and Youth Pastor and has served as a Hospital Chaplain and was commissioned a US Army Chaplain in 1990. He earned a Master of Divinity at Asbury Theological Seminary, a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Education at Asbury University, and completed post graduate work in Clinical Pastoral Education in Louisville, KY. Shelley has wide-ranging experience in project management at the executive level.
For Shelley, there is no greater joy than witnessing a life transformed in Christ. He loves to nurture people in their faith journey, helping them see how Scripture connects with their daily life, and giving people resources to deepen their walk with Christ.
REV. KEN HUNDLEY Assoc. Pastor of Student Ministries
As Associate Pastor of Student Ministries, Ken works with adult volunteer staff and our Student Leadership Teams to oversee our Hands of Christ Student Ministries, which includes the Madisonville Chrysalis Community.
Ken grew up in Madisonville and attended Madisonville FUMC as a child.
Ken is married to Susan who works for the Hopkins County Board of Education. They have two children--Micah, who lives and works in Louisville, KY, and Hannah, who serves with Salud y Paz, a UMC ministry in Guatemala.
Ken has a heart for missions and leads Hands of Christ Mission Teams each year. In addition, he leads our students in many local and regional ministries.
TRACE McCANN Children's Pastor
As Children's Pastor, Teresa (a.k.a. Trace) is responsible for all programs relating to children from birth through fifth grade and supervises the Mother's Day Out and Preschool Ministries staff.
Trace is a native of Mississippi and a graduate of Mississippi College and Southern Seminary where she earned a Masters in Religious Education. She is married to Bill McCann, Chaplain at Baptist Health. Trace and Bill are the parents of David and Sarah McCann and Molly, their dog.
Trace came on staff at Madisonville FUMC in September of 2005 as a part-time Children's Pastor and went full-time in January of 2007.
